Thanksgiving at Aunt Jean's House

After saying goodbye to the beach, we drove by the house where Anna's mommy grew up. Next we headed to Pensacola to eat a delicious Thanksgiving dinner with Anna's Great Aunt Jean. She had cooked all the favorite family recipes!

Wednesday, November 24

This was our last afternoon at the beach. Anna and her Grandpa had a great time "fishing" for shells that the tide was washing up. Grandpa patiently encouraged Anna's interest in the shells. It reminded me of the times that his parents (my grandparents) used to come to Ft. Walton Beach to visit when I was a child. My grandmother and I would walk up and down the beach gathering shells, watching the birds, and enjoying the beauty of nature. Those were special times.

The grandparents arrived at the condo today! Anna was so excited to see them. That afternoon, they came down to the beach with her to play in the sand until the sun went down.

"In the Swim"

Despite the cool weather, Anna, Jenna, and Gracie wanted to swim in the pool. The pool was supposedly heated, but someone had failed to turn on the heating system. Jenna and Anna had fun jumping to Gracie, practicing short swims to the side, and practicing kicking. All three girls denied being cold, but the last picture pretty much sums up the temperature...

Making a Splash

On Monday afternoon, Jenna and Anna got to put on swimsuits and splash in the waves...what a delight!
