The bathroom renovation
(see July 8 post) is finally completed....now the roof is leaking!!! As Anna was getting ready for bed on a rainy evening, she came in and said with urgency, "Mommy there is water by my bed!" And there was! It was running down the window frame and the wall. A closer inspection the next day revealed a HOLE in the roof that had evidently been there for some time....the water just hadn't soaked through the attic and wall completely until the right moment. The insurance adjusters determined that the roof had wind and hail damage that likely happened several years ago, and we think that was the cause of the rotten spot where the tree limb fell and poked a hole right through. So now there will be MORE repair work....just when I thought it was complete for a while.
